Job Summary:
The Healthcare Economist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive economic research and analysis within the healthcare sector. This role requires a deep understanding of economic principles, statistical analysis, and healthcare systems to provide evidence-based insights and recommendations. The Healthcare Economist will work closely with cross-functional teams to support decision-making and policy development to optimize healthcare resource allocation and promote cost-effective healthcare practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct economic research and analysis to evaluate healthcare systems, policies, and interventions.
2. Utilize statistical models and econometric techniques to assess the impact of healthcare programs and policies on costs, quality, and access.
3. Analyze healthcare data, including claims data, health surveys, and other relevant datasets to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
4. Develop cost-benefit analyses and cost-effectiveness studies to support healthcare decision-making.
5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect data, design research studies, and interpret findings.
6. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and publications on healthcare economics research findings.
7. Stay updated with current healthcare regulations, policies, and industry trends to provide informed recommendations.
8. Participate in interdisciplinary teams to provide economic expertise and support in the development of healthcare strategies, programs, and policies.
9. Support the development of economic models and simulations to forecast healthcare expenditures and assess financial risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Economics, Health Economics, Public Health, or a related field.
2. Demonstrated experience in conducting economic research and analysis, preferably within the healthcare domain.
3. Proficient in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS) and econometric techniques.
4. Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, policies, and regulations.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
6. Proficient in data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis using statistical software.
7. Ability to communicate complex economic concepts and findings effectively, both orally and in writing.
8. Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
